Production Blog- Updated schedule

 Hello! The following is our updated schedule plan for our short film. The only thing that has been updated is the filming schedule.

Schedule

1/20/21- We will meet up at Vanessa’s house to film the remaining scenes that are meant to be filmed inside of the home. After, we will drive to the nearest Publix to film the needed scenes. We will begin filming at 5pm and complete finishing at 7pm... 

1/24/21- We will begin editing our film. We will upload all of the scenes to our computers and edit the scenes.

1/28/21- We will finish editing this day.

Health and Safety

Our safety rules and guidelines have stayed the same.

-To ensure our safety, my parents have volunteered to act as a “safety team’ by providing extreme supervision, with access to a phone that can dial 911 and a first aid kit.

- For scenes where April is driving, we will have the car park unless it is crucial for the car to be moving. We all have our driver’s license so it is completely legal for us all to operate a motor vehicle.

-For scenes where we are in public, we will be wearing masks unless the masks need to be off to show facial expressions. We will ensure that no one I nearby and that none of us are feeling ill.

-We will have a first aid kit ready and a member of the safety team watching, should something go wrong.

Props

We will be using 2 cars to film the driving and crash scenes.

We will also be using a cellphone to display text messages and missed phone calls.

The calendar that April uses to cross off the date will also be used.

Fake glass and blood will also be used.

Costumes

April will be wearing regular teenage girl clothes. This will be blue jeans and a t-shirt with Vans.

She will wear pajamas at the beginning when she first wakes up in each scene. This will be pajama pants and a t-shirt with crocs.

Backup Plan

If we are unable to film at Vanessa's house, we will be filming at my house. If anyone falls ill before we are able to begin filming, we will find a friend to replace their role in the film. If anything happens to a car that is supposed to be used, we will use the backup cars that belong to our parents.

Production Blog- Second day of fliming

     My group and I began day two of filming today. We had intended on filming the vehicle and car crash scenes. We knew we had to film them strategically to ensure the safety of ourselves and our surroundings. Due to our scenes repeating, recording each part various times was crucial. We started by recording each part separately then compared them afterward. This made the process smoother since the entire scene was already set. This included the clothing, sets, and proper lighting. Much like the first day, we started to run into some problems. For the majority of our time, everything was running smoothly. However, the weather began to work against us. In some parts, the wind was too active which messed with the audio. Most of the dialogue was washed out so we couldn't really hear. Production Blog- Post Card

Due to my absence from school, my group stepped in to complete the postcard. A postcard is a physical or digital small form of advertisement. There is usually a front and back. The theme of the postcard usually matches the genre of the media. In our case: Mystery. The title of our short film is "Wednesday Drive." To get that point across to our viewers, we need to include a car of some sort onto the postcard. After a few website searches for the car in motion, we finally found the right one. The picture we used portrays a car driving fast. Due to the focus of the photo, you can sense the speed is above the speed limit. This plant's images in your mind of what is to come next. Will the driver into a car accident, will they get pulled over. Thus, leaving you wanting more. On the front of our postcard, we also include the showtimes, address, a QR code to the website, and our social media. Every important piece of information the audience may need is right on the card. A Level: Group Blog

Hi! Dru here. As you know, last year for my final task I chose to work alone. Due to covid and time conflicts. However, for my  A level final task I will be grouping up with 2 other people: S and Vanessa G. I am excited to be able to group up rather than work alone. This will help make the process a little easier. We all have different experiences and thoughts so the final product will be a reflection of that.  We plan on brainstorming first. Then, planning the rest of our events. Such as who is filming, acting, and editing. When we choose to meet and themes. I chose to work with these people because we already are comfortable with each other and are hard workers. We are all really passionate in making this the best.  We knew we were going to group up from the start. So I am really glad it all worked out.
