Updated Screenplay for Short Film


 This is my group and I’s updated script for our short film. After revising and editing the script we come out with the final product. We made sure to fix the font and size of some sentences and make sure that our plot is clear. Here is the final script!


INT. TOWNHOUSE HOME – DAY


This is the home of April, the main character. She is in her bedroom and is just now waking up from her sleep. Her room conforms to the typical standards of a teenage girls’ room with clothes on the floor to show she is in a hurry.


Music begins to play from her alarm and then continues to play within the scene.

Song: Replay by Zendaya 


April gets up and crosses out the date on the calendar(Wednesday).


Cut to: She goes to the bathroom and begins getting ready. Then her phone rings and she picks up. 


         MOTHER:   

 Don't forget the cake Lindsay’s 7th birthday

 and then she begins to rush because needs to hurry.


        APRIL: 

Oh crap! 


Cut to:

As she's going out the door she is rushing to put on her shoes. After she goes out the door the camera pans to the phone being left on the table.



EXT. INSIDE THE CAR - DAY


This scene happens inside of April's car. She is driving fast to Publix in a rush to pick up a cake for her sister’s birthday.


While April is driving the song Promiscuous Girl - Nelly Furtado is playing in the car as she drives.


She gets to a stop sign but decides to not stop because she is trying to rush to get the cake.


APRIL:

Oh well it’ll be fine...

   

Cut to:

A car hit’s April’s car because of the ran stop sign. Both cars are damaged. 


April:

*GASPS*

Cut to: She goes to the bathroom and begins getting ready. Then she remembers she’s supposed to pick up the cake so she texts her mom.


APRIL:

    I’m heading out to get the cake soon.


Mother:

    Ok that's great I would have thought your had forgotten, just head over when you get it.


Cut to: 

 April’s putting on her shoes and putting her phone in her purse as she leaves. 


EXT. INSIDE THE CAR - DAY


This scene happens inside of April's car. She is driving to Publix to pick up a cake for her sister’s birthday.


While April is driving the song Promiscuous Girl - Nelly Furtado is playing. She gets to a stop sign but decides to stop.


APRIL:

    Ugh! It’s the right thing to do I guess. 


EXT. OUTSIDE OF PUBLIX -DAY


April walks inside Publix however that cake takes a little longer than expected then she walks outside of Publix.


EXT. INSIDE THE CAR - DAY


APRIL is driving and starts searching for her phone though her purse to text her mom that she is on her way. As she is searching she swerves and hits another car. 


APRIL:

    *GASPS*

APRIL wakes up in her room again. Her room conforms to the typical standards of a teenage girls room with clothes on the floor to show she is in a hurry.


Music begins to play from her alarm and then continues to play within the scene.

April gets up and crosses off the date on her calendar(Wednesday).


Cut to: She goes to the bathroom and begins getting ready. She then remembers she is supposed to pick up a cake for her mom. She decides to text her mom and tell her that she is leaving to get the cake soon. 


Cut to:

She tosses her phone on the bed as she goes and puts her shoes on. She then leaves the house with her phone left on the bed.


EXT. INSIDE THE CAR - DAY


This scene happens inside of April's car. She is driving to Publix to pick up a cake for her sister’s birthday.


While April is driving and the song Promiscuous Girl - Nelly Furtado is playing in the car. 


EXT. OUTSIDE OF PUBLIX -DAY


She walks out with the cake in hand as she gets in her car. 


INT. INSIDE THE CAR -DAY


April begins driving and as she’s on the road she remembers she forgets to text her mom. 


APRIL:

Damn it. Well it can wait. 


April passes another car and she feels a sense of deja vu.


INT. TOWNHOUSE HOME – DAY


This is the home of April, the alarm goes off music begins to play from her alarm and then continues to play within the scene Song: Breaking free.


She wakes up and goes to the calendar and crosses off the day, Thursday.

Production Blog- Second day of fliming

     My group and I began day two of filming today. We had intended on filming the vehicle and car crash scenes. We knew we had to film them strategically to ensure the safety of ourselves and our surroundings. Due to our scenes repeating, recording each part various times was crucial. We started by recording each part separately then compared them afterward. This made the process smoother since the entire scene was already set. This included the clothing, sets, and proper lighting. Much like the first day, we started to run into some problems. For the majority of our time, everything was running smoothly. However, the weather began to work against us. In some parts, the wind was too active which messed with the audio. Most of the dialogue was washed out so we couldn't really hear. Production Blog- Post Card

Due to my absence from school, my group stepped in to complete the postcard. A postcard is a physical or digital small form of advertisement. There is usually a front and back. The theme of the postcard usually matches the genre of the media. In our case: Mystery. The title of our short film is "Wednesday Drive." To get that point across to our viewers, we need to include a car of some sort onto the postcard. After a few website searches for the car in motion, we finally found the right one. The picture we used portrays a car driving fast. Due to the focus of the photo, you can sense the speed is above the speed limit. This plant's images in your mind of what is to come next. Will the driver into a car accident, will they get pulled over. Thus, leaving you wanting more. On the front of our postcard, we also include the showtimes, address, a QR code to the website, and our social media. Every important piece of information the audience may need is right on the card. A Level: Group Blog

Hi! Dru here. As you know, last year for my final task I chose to work alone. Due to covid and time conflicts. However, for my  A level final task I will be grouping up with 2 other people: S and Vanessa G. I am excited to be able to group up rather than work alone. This will help make the process a little easier. We all have different experiences and thoughts so the final product will be a reflection of that.  We plan on brainstorming first. Then, planning the rest of our events. Such as who is filming, acting, and editing. When we choose to meet and themes. I chose to work with these people because we already are comfortable with each other and are hard workers. We are all really passionate in making this the best.  We knew we were going to group up from the start. So I am really glad it all worked out.
