Screenplay for Short Film
This is my group and I’s script. Enjoy!
INT. TOWNHOUSE HOME – DAY
This is the home of April, the main character. She is in her bedroom and is just now waking up from her sleep. Her room conforms to the typical standards of a teenage girls’ room with clothes on the floor to show she is in a hurry.
Music begins to play from her alarm and then continues to play within the scene.
Song: Living in sunlight Tiny Tim
April gets up and checks the date on her calendar.
Cut to: She goes to the bathroom and begins getting ready.
MOTHER:
Don't forget the cake Lindsay’s 7th birthday
and then she begins to rush because needs to hurry.
APRIL:
Oh crap!
Cut to:
As she's going out the door she is rushing to put on her shoes. After she goes out the door the camera pans to the phone being left on the table. She gets a missed call and then a text from her mother stating:
“Don’t forget to not go on Broward BLVD because of what happened to grandpa”
EXT. INSIDE THE CAR - DAY
This scene happens inside of April's car. She is driving to Publix to pick up a cake for her sister’s birthday.
While April is driving she is lip syncing the song

EXT. OUTSIDE OF PUBLIX -DAY
April walks inside Publix then walks outside of Publix.
EXT. INSIDE THE CAR - DAY
APRIL is driving in a rush and starts searching for her phone. As she is searching, the cake falls leaving her in distress. When she looks up an incoming car collides. APRIL is severely injured.
APRIL:
I gotta call MOM! Uhhh where’s my phone?
APRIL:
*Gasp*
APRIL coughs up blood while laying on the floor
-B L A C K O U T-
[SCENES 1 - 4] REPEAT while consecutively getting faster each time
INT. TOWNHOUSE HOME – DAY
APRIL wakes up in her room again. Her room conforms to the typical standards of a teenage girls room with clothes on the floor to show she is in a hurry.

INT. HOSPITAL ROOM - DAY
APRIL is unconscious on a hospital bed. Her mom and sister sit on each side of her bed. APRIL starts to wake up, making her mom jump up in disbelief. APRIL was in a coma for over 10 years.
MOTHER:
A-April? SHE’S AWAKE! LUNA SHE’S AWAKE!
LUNA:
Wha-? APRIL? APRIL!
APRIL:
*gaining consciousness*
M-Mom? L-Luna? Where am I?
MOTHER:
Oh sweetie…
MOTHER starts to cry
MOTHER:
You were in a coma for 10 years…
APRIL:
Oh..
MOTHER:
Let me catch you up! Luna got married and has a son named Jake
LUNA:
You can meet him whenever you’re ready
APRIL smiles and nods
MOTHER:
I am so happy that you woke up
APRIL:
Me too, Mom. Hey, what’s today’s date?
MOTHER & LUNA:
It’s Wednesday
