Planning for final task: location, health, schedule and more



 Location:

I decided to record the majority of this movie in my own house. Mainly because I wanted to keep everything COVID-19 safe. Even the scenes my friends need to record will be at her own house as well. First location is my living, then bedroom,bathroom, kitchen, then living again. I briefly stay on my patio by my living rom. Another relocation is my friends bedroom then my living room again.

Participants: 

I have only have 2 people in this movie. It was very hard to even find the second person as everyone is cautious of catching disease. I also wanted to use my family, however their availability could not align with my set filming schedule.

Health:

Since COVID hit, nothing has been normal. Hanging out with my friends have lessen and my time outside has decreased. Due to this, I could not have a lot of people in my movie and opted for two: my friend Jade and I. All the scenes I am in will be filmed in my own house and all the scenes jade are in will be filmed at her house. This ensures that we are socially distancing and completely safe.

Schedule:

On 03/10/21, filming beings. I will shoot all scenes in my living room then kitchen.

On 03/11.21, all scenes with Jade will be filmed. As she is only in one scene it wont take that long. On that same day I will record my patio scene.

On 03/13/21, the final scenes I have will be filmed. This includes my bathroom scenes and bedroom scenes

On 03/14/21, editing immediately begins. I will upload all scenes onto DaVinci Resolve. With clips weight it will take quiet awhile. After that I will arrange and cutting clips down.

 On 03/15/21, I will finish cutting all scenes and start adding transitions and music.

On 03/20/21, I will wrap up editing and watching through the opening sequence multiples time getting out all kinks.

On 03/21/21, I will upload my movie and finish the entire process.

Production Blog- Second day of fliming

     My group and I began day two of filming today. We had intended on filming the vehicle and car crash scenes. We knew we had to film them strategically to ensure the safety of ourselves and our surroundings. Due to our scenes repeating, recording each part various times was crucial. We started by recording each part separately then compared them afterward. This made the process smoother since the entire scene was already set. This included the clothing, sets, and proper lighting. Much like the first day, we started to run into some problems. For the majority of our time, everything was running smoothly. However, the weather began to work against us. In some parts, the wind was too active which messed with the audio. Most of the dialogue was washed out so we couldn't really hear. Production Blog- Post Card

Due to my absence from school, my group stepped in to complete the postcard. A postcard is a physical or digital small form of advertisement. There is usually a front and back. The theme of the postcard usually matches the genre of the media. In our case: Mystery. The title of our short film is "Wednesday Drive." To get that point across to our viewers, we need to include a car of some sort onto the postcard. After a few website searches for the car in motion, we finally found the right one. The picture we used portrays a car driving fast. Due to the focus of the photo, you can sense the speed is above the speed limit. This plant's images in your mind of what is to come next. Will the driver into a car accident, will they get pulled over. Thus, leaving you wanting more. On the front of our postcard, we also include the showtimes, address, a QR code to the website, and our social media. Every important piece of information the audience may need is right on the card. A Level: Group Blog

Hi! Dru here. As you know, last year for my final task I chose to work alone. Due to covid and time conflicts. However, for my  A level final task I will be grouping up with 2 other people: S and Vanessa G. I am excited to be able to group up rather than work alone. This will help make the process a little easier. We all have different experiences and thoughts so the final product will be a reflection of that.  We plan on brainstorming first. Then, planning the rest of our events. Such as who is filming, acting, and editing. When we choose to meet and themes. I chose to work with these people because we already are comfortable with each other and are hard workers. We are all really passionate in making this the best.  We knew we were going to group up from the start. So I am really glad it all worked out.
