Choosing our pitch

 We chose mystery as the genre of our short film. We decided between mystery, drama, and thriller. The decision did require us to really take into consideration how we wanted certain parts of the short film to be perceived from the audience. Mystery seemed like the best fit because in the plot of our short film, the audience is kept wondering what’s happening until the end, which was more mystery than drama and thriller. We also plan to use many of the common camera movements,angles, sound, and many other aspects of horror. In our short film the audience is gonna keep watching because of their personal investment to find out what is happening. We didn't think our short film would be a thriller because although we have a measure of suspense it does not have the adventurous aspects many thrillers have. Although thriller and mystery are closely related, the direction we chose to take our short film was closer to mystery. We also did not pick drama because we found that drama’s have many conflicts and high stakes at every turn.  In drama’s there is always one conflict after another and the audience is always invested in that conflict. Since our short film doesn’t have multiple conflicts we knew it already wouldn't be the great fit. The way we figured out which genre we would like more was by putting our pitch idea into each genre. We started by putting the pitch into a thriller genre, we realized how we would have to change certain things to make it a thriller. After realizing what we had to change we realized it wouldn’t work in the way we wanted it too. Next we put our pitch into the drama genre, here we realized we were gonna have to add more conflicts which we didn’t wanna do for two reasons. The first reason was that we didn’t picture having multiple conflicts and the second reason was that since it is a short film we didn’t think it was good to have to many conflicts going on. We are very excited for this short film because this is a chance to tell a complete story which was different from AS level. This is why we took so much time deciding this to make sure we all agreed on the same vision and that we made the right choice. To ensure we made the right choice we also made sure that we really talked about everything as a group. We are so excited to continue our project now that we have chosen our genre.

Schedule 1/20/21- We will meet up at Vanessa’s house to film the remaining scenes that are meant to be filmed inside of the home. After, we will drive to the nearest Publix to film the needed scenes. How do your products represent groups or issues The main character of our film is a teenage girl named "April". As a teenager most specifically a girl, there are a million and one things constantly running through. Such as, remembering to do the math homework or even watching the new episode of the popular show. Within our film, these common emotions are heavily promoted. We see the main character being forgetful which eventually cost her, her life. In order to break this trend, she must learn to be patient. While forgetfulness is a human trait. We all forget things from time to time. However, when our forgetfulness hinders our abilities to remain patient, we can regret it. Teens all around the world will be able to watch our films and feel represented. Additionally, Floridians are greatly represented within our films. My Pitch

       So here's my first pitch-     A group of teenagers, all from different cliques get brought together by a life-changing event that will keep them connected forever. Will they fumble? or rise to the occasion!      My next pitch is sorta similar but more action- A group of friends must resonate with their souls in order to defeat the ultimate evil. Bonded by fate, will these heroes save all of humanity?       For my first pitch, I would be interested in making it into a film because I feel as if it's versatile. It doesn't give too much but it still leaves something on your tongue. This could take place in a high school, camp, mall, etc. The options are endless. Also, the genre is ultimately action drama. However, with his pitch, it would be easy to add in some romance or even comedy.
