Introduction to the Music Video Project


 I am so excited to start this new project. I love being creative so this allows me to think beyond my wildest dreams. Making a music video has been a task I’ve wanted to do for a long time now. So, this project is perfect. 

I’ve decided to work by myself for this project. I feel as if I can be at my most creative state when working alone. However, for the filming portion I will have some friends be in the actual video. I can be in full control and make my imagination come to life. 

I chose the song “7 rings” by Ariana Grande. I wanted a very upbeat song that I could easily use one minute of. Also, I made sure that the song I chose would be able to tell a story. I want the audience to feel line they’re being taken into this new world and experience it with the main actor in the video. It will have a “Alice in Wonderland” when she first gets to Wonderland feel. The feelings of confusion yet intriguing energy will be present. 

High angles, close-ups, and low shots etc. will be greatly incorporated into the video as they play a key role. Every scene that I film will have a clear motive to it. 

All in all, I am just itching to get started with this process. Never less, to see the outcome of it all. It will be great. Mark my words!

  It's done! I am so happy that I finished this amazing project. I ran into some problems along the way but all in all, I am happy with the outcome. The only thing I am a little disappointed in is the quality of my video. It was all good until it came to upload my video onto Youtube. However, this is a learning experience to also keep the quality of any project at top priority.  This entire process took about 1 week if you don't count the days that I did nothing. I had a lot of fun with this and will 100% do it again if I have any free time. One way I think I could've improved was with the number of people in the music video. I originally planned for about four people to be in it but I ended up with one. But, you have to work with what you got. Short film research: WHITTLING AWAY/Mystery

Common Sound This short film heavily involved diegetic sound from the river's flowing to the cuts of the knife whittling of the wood.  Common Mis-En-Scene This short film used casual clothing. The Dad wore a t-shirt with pants, and the daughter wore a crop top with jeans. The daughter even has her hair a little messy, which contributes to the curiosity of the watchers. Why is her hair messy? Where was she before this? What is she doing? One of the main props is a tiny knife. We do not get to see the purpose of it until the very end of the film. The lightning in this film is semi-dim. The shots in the house are well light while the scenes in the foster are dim, which creates an eerie feeling. There is no makeup present in the film. The setting of this film is set in a rural area. The house is near a forest with a river. Common Editing This film used lots of mid-shots. How do your products represent groups or issues The main character of our film is a teenage girl named "April". As a teenager most specifically a girl, there are a million and one things constantly running through. Such as, remembering to do the math homework or even watching the new episode of the popular show. Within our film, these common emotions are heavily promoted. We see the main character being forgetful which eventually cost her, her life. In order to break this trend, she must learn to be patient. While forgetfulness is a human trait. We all forget things from time to time. However, when our forgetfulness hinders our abilities to remain patient, we can regret it. Teens all around the world will be able to watch our films and feel represented. Additionally, Floridians are greatly represented within our films.
